Freedom and rules
Nobody wants an economy without clear rules. However, people often don’t realise how many rules family businesses have to follow and how difficult it is for them to do so. The EU in particular is constantly issuing new requirements. But good intentions do not always produce good outcomes. Bureaucracy becomes a competitive disadvantage for the location. It stifles entrepreneurship. At the same time, it leaves family businesses alone in their endeavours to operate lawfully.
